The pillows on our patio were getting very sun-faded and dirty. We tried putting them through the washing machine, but that did not restore much life to them, so we broke out our new sewing machine, picked out a nice, durable fabric, and Nicki whipped up a couple new pillows in just about an hour.

First, she tore open one of the old pillows and removed the stuffing, then she traced the old pillow cover (for size) onto the new fabric. She folded over the fabric and, being careful to line up the stripes, cut out our new pillow covers. She added pins to ensure the stripes stayed perfectly aligned as she sewed everything together and put the old stuffing into the new pillow cover.
